How is EMS training different from a gym?

In our previous blog post that discussed what EMS Training is, we explored what Electrical Muscle Stimulation training is, but you may be wondering how it differs to conventional workouts in a gym. EMS training offers a number of benefits that differentiate this type of workout with the workouts you might experience with a personal trainer in a gym.

Unlike traditional gyms where muscles worked are limited by the exercise, wearing our Miha Bodytec EMS training suits, 8 muscle groups are constantly stimulated for the entire session. Instead of spending 4 hours working out at a gym, with so many muscles activated, sessions only need to be 25 minutes long to give an effective workout. It may be a short workout, but it is intense and effective as your rest will be short to keep your heart rate high! The best part is that you only need to workout once per week! Instead of making daily visits to your local gym, a single weekly visit to an Iron BodyFit studio in London is all you need to make you stronger, fitter, and to see visible changes to your body.

Gyms can be intimidating places, so a big difference between a regular gym and the Iron BodyFit EMS studio is the environment. At the most, only two other people will be working out with you, so not only will you get plenty of support and attention from your personal trainer, you’ll be able to relax and feel more comfortable when working out.

Unlike working out in a traditional gym, when doing electrical muscle stimulation training you don’t need to move in the same way. The training suit will stimulate your muscles for you, but we will still do a selection of different movements to ensure your muscles are activated and going through a full range of motion.

In a gym where you might use weights or machines for resistance training or a treadmill or stationary bike for cardio training, in an EMS workout, all you need is a training suit and you’re good to go! As it stimulates the muscles directly, unlike resistance or cardio training, there is no stress on your joints, making it suitable for individuals with degenerative joint disease.

When you try an EMS workout for the first time it’ll feel unlike anything you’ve ever tried before, are you ready to give it a go for yourself? Book your trial session now!
